A concerned neighbor called Mission Granbury about Ted, a 65-year-old man with cancer, living on a Social Security income of $93.00 per month. Ted was able to receive help from the Salvation Army. The agency paid his electric bill and provided much needed food.

The Granbury Service Unit of the Salvation Army consists of a volunteer committee dedicated to providing a range of emergency social services to the residents of Hood County and transients who may be stranded and need help.

Services may include prescription medication, utility bill assistance, transportation, gas/oil/parts, food or meals, and Christmas aid to families of inmates.
