Selection Criteria :

Criteria for Admission

An agency/organization requesting admission into United Way as a member agency must meet the following criteria:
  • Provide health and a human care services to Hood County citizens without regard to race, color or creed.
  • Must be a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization for 12 months preceding the application. Any organization with less than 12 months must apply for special review to be considered as a fund recipient.
  • Have an unpaid volunteer Board of Directors who meet at least four times a year and have representation from Hood County United Way's service area.
  • Have service programs with clearly defined target population(s) and geographic area(s).
  • The organization's service(s) must be available to all in the target population regardless of ability to pay
  • The participating agencies must attend an interview of the Allocation Committee upon request and provide:
    Summary of services and highlights,
    A right to audit,
    Other items as requested
