Camp Fire:

Camp Fire USA First Texas Council

This is Andy’s second time to attend de la Vida. His grandfather signed him up for camp after his father’s death from a car accident a couple of years ago. Andy lived with his grandparents after his father’s death and their bond grew stronger. Then, his grandfather died. But camp helps Andy to heal. Group therapy is a daily activity. Talking helps. “ My grandfather would talk to me about the dying part,” young Andy said. “But then he died. We talk about it here and it helps.”

People served in Hood County in 2004: 183
